- This university started life as the Seoul High Home School established by the Mugung Foundation in 1948. Shortly thereafter, the foundation established Geunhwa Women’s Junior School, a modern educational institution for women, in 1952. The school’s name was changed to Seoul Women’s Junior College in 1955.
- Since its establishment as the Mugung School in 1948 and elevation as a university in 1983, Myongji University has two campuses in Seoul and Yongin, with 11 colleges, 16 undergraduate studies, 43 departments, and 17 majors.
